John Deere 450e round baler. E4 02 bale sensor

I have a John Deere 450e round baler. E4 02 is code, which has to do with bale size. John Deere made service call, adjusted sensor and worked fine, but after finishing 10 or so bales, got all done but sensor error reading came back on. Still bales but any ideas how to address this? Thanks

i've dealt with this before on a different model, but the principles are often similar. the sensor might be getting knocked out of alignment after a few cycles. try checking the mounting bracket and the sensor itself for any signs of wear, or if it's coming loose. you might also want to inspect the wiring harness for any pinches or damage that could be causing an intermittent signal. a simple adjustment isn't enough if there's an underlying mechanical issue allowing things to shift!

Appreciate the insight! I just started working with a used baler for packaging recycled foam sheets. I've noticed the sensor acts up after a few runs and sometimes it just stops mid-cycle. How did you spot the alignment issue on your model? Trying to avoid a full teardown if I can help it!

Did you try cleaning the sensor area completely?
