Keeping the goats in

I’m looking into using polywire for containing goats but I dont know how effective it can be. Also, do I have to run multiple strands or add extra deterrents to keep them in?

Polywire works but goats are escape artists and I believe you should run at least 3 to 4 strands, lowest at chest height. You could also consider adding hot wire offset inside should the goats keep leaning and yeah depends on the breed too, dairy goats are worse than meat goats

polywire can absolutely work for goats, but i agree with @shun.shawn that goats are great escape artists!! )))) most folks would recommend at least four to five strands. you can start low, maybe 6 inches, and space the rest out every 8-10 inches up to their chest height. make sure the polywire is well charged too! goats' coats are thick, and you want them to respect the fence immediately. a strong charger is usually the best deterrent!!
