Wrapped up my first cutting of the season on my 15 acres. Overall went really well, I can say the weather cooperated perfectly and I got it baled at 12% moisture.
Here's my concern though, I'm storing about 200 small squares in my barn loft like usual, but we've had more humidity this fall than normal and although the airflow up there is okay, I'm still quite paranoid about mold developing over the winter
Do you guys do anything special for moisture control in storage? I've heard some people put down pallets
Also , anyone else noticing their livestock going through hay faster this year? My horses seem to be eating more than last winter or maybe it's just in my head
Appreciate any wisdom from the experienced here
